This makes total sense since each and every one of us is assumed to be guilty of TERRA!?! before we're proved innocent. Right?
I'd take a step back before jumping to that conclusion and wonder aloud: How, exactly, will camouflage help hide anyone in a typical police environment? Look at Ferguson...ignoring all of the other problems with how the police handled every bit of the situation, they were in an urban environment in jungle camo. It served no purpose whatsoever.
Not true. It served a very clear purpose: broadcasting to the citizens of Ferguson that they were under occupation by their own city, and that their government viewed them as enemy combatants.
Soldiers use camo to hide from the enemy. Cops use it to stand out very clearly.
Exactly. They're functionally counter-productive. They're meant to be seen and they send the exact wrong message a cop SHOULD want to send.
I was being fatuous, actually. :-)
What in the ever loving fuck?

I think I just broke something in my brain trying to replicate the thought process that produced that statement. Actually, "thought" process might be too generous.
I think I can help:
1) War video games = Cool
2) Camo in war video games that take place in desert / jungle settings = Cool and useful.
3) "Fighting Terror" = Cool
4) Camo = Cool and Useful
5) Sell cool and useful camo to government
6) ???
7) PROFIT!
Is it even the municipal police force's job to fight terrorism? Shouldn't that be the FBI or the CIA? Police should be fighting local crime.
I welcome the idea that terrorism should be fought locally using traditional policing methods rather than by making war in other countries. But unfortunately, the people who set investigative priorities don't really seem to recognize the most prevalent forms of terrorism in the US: attacks on people trying to obtain or provide reproductive health services and white supremacist attacks on non-white/non-straight people. And I really don't see how militarizing cops is going to somehow re-orient their priorities. :/
